A part of the contract is an option for another trainset.“In the last years, we increase significantly our portion in export. This year, we expect to reach 45 % of export and next year even 60 %. In the field of train production it is important to succeed at first at the domestic market and afterwards to break through at foreign markets with good references and we really managed,“ said Jiří Paruza, general director of Škoda Vagonka. Fully air-conditioned units will run on the line Vilnius - Kaunas with a maximum speed 160 km/h and feeding voltage 25 kW. Capacity of a trainset is 304 seats in a three-car version and 170 seats in two-car version. Low-floor cars wil be equipped with Wi-Fi connection, wall plugs for PC, external and internal camera system, vending machines for drinks and spaces for baby carriages, bicycles and big luggage. „Lithuanian railways have already operated with success four trainsets Class 575 supplied in the years 2008 - 2010. Every train runs daily 700 km at average,“ added Paruza. Trainsets are operated in difficult, almost northern, conditions „with availability over 98 %“.
