ŠKODA VAGONKA REGIOPANTER WILL BE INTRODUCED IN NOVEMBER
28. 11. 2011New single-deck electric units from the company Škoda Vagonka will be firs introduced in November of this year. The premier will be associated with ceremony of baptism - units will bear the name RegioPanter. The name prevailed among more than 10,500 proposals of the competition called Name the new train, announced by manufacturer and the Czech Railways. The trains will gradually start to run on regional tracks in the regions of South Bohemia, Hradec Kralove, Olomouc, Pardubice and Ústi.
The new single-deck electric unit represents an entirely new generation of modern low-floor vehicles. Modern trains will be designed as wheelchair accessible. The reduced entrance (at the height of modern platforms) simply allows all passengers easy entry and the doors controlled by buttons, will be blocked for safety driving. The advantages of low-floor solutions and of wide doors are also shortening the time of the passengers boarding. Within the barrier-free solution will passengers find a toilet with a closed system. The modern interior illuminated by large windows will be air-conditioned. The passenger will have seats covered with fabric. The manufacturer equips the trains with a universal space for the placement of prams, bicycles and large luggage. Acquisition of vehicles will be co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund through the Regional Operational Programmes.
