KAO Activities

VÚŽ is authorized by the Office for Technical Standardisation, Metrology and State Testing to assess conformity of structural subsystems of infrastructure, energy, railway vehicles, control and security of the European railway system. In July 2011, VÚŽ has became a recognized expert evaluator to assess safety of the above-mentioned structural subsystems according to the relevant Decree of the European Commission (EU), 2009 on Adoption of Common Security Method for Evaluation and Assessment of risks. The recognition was issued by the Railway Office on July 25, 2011. During this year, in the framework of its main activities, VÚŽ has performed assessments of conformity of technical conditions for interoperability of the European railway system in accordance with European and national legislation and issued certificates to the following significant customers:

• Assessment of four-axle open discharging wagon for transport of loose materials, Class Falns(s), type 9-436.1 for Ostravské opravny a strojírny.
• Assessment of four-axle high-sided wagon, Class Eanos, type 9-119.9.29 to transport loose and lump materials for ŽOS Trnava.  Assessment of the construction „Reconstruction of railway bridge Kolín“ for Viamont DSP.
• Assessment of six-axle articulated wagon, Class Sggrss 80‘, type 9-578.5 to transport high-capacity containers, four-axle bogie wagon, Class Faccns 48 m3, type 9-442.0 to transport sand and gravel and four-axle bogie tank wa- DAKO-CZ WILL SUPPLY BRAKE SYSTEM FOR WARSAW METRO The company DAKO-CZ won important order for the supply of brake system for new generation of Siemens metro cars. It consists totally of 35 6cars units of Inspiro type, which will be operated in Warsaw. The order is a continuation of successful cooperation with Siemens company in METRO OSLO project in terms of which totally 115 6cars units will be equipped with DAKO system. The brake system for Inspiro cars is of modular type and it ensures control of electropneumatic direct acting brake, emergency brake, spring parking brake and air suspension. gon, Class Zacns 95 m3, type 9-399.8 to transport liquids for LEGIOS.
• Assessment of four-axle wagon Eanos, type 425 Wx, produced in cooperation with the new TATRAVAGONKA, CO.´s workshop-FABRYKA WAGONOW GNIEWCZINA, S.A. in Poland for TATRAVAGONKA.
• Verification of board equipment (Radiostation VS67) enabling voice communication with engine driver on locomotives Class 753.7 for CZ LOKO.
• Assessment of the UNITRACK PIS-PIREDI information system, providing visual compulsory information to passengers on transport (especially on train routes, times of arrival and departure according to timetable and their actual observance - delays) and additional transport information (above all about some extraordinary transport situations, possibilities of changes at stations on train route or others at requirement) for UniControls.
• Assessment of two-car motor unit 814- 914 composed of a motor car Class 814 and control car Class 914 for Pars Nova. • Assessment of wheelset, 920 mm diameter, for wagons with axle load 22,5 tonnes and 920 mm diameter of railway wheels for Bonatrans, the firm belonging among world´s suppliers of railway components.
• Assessment of radio equipment CAB, radio MTR10 used for connection of radiostation to electric motor car for RADOM. • Assessment of the construction „Modernization of the line Tábor – Sudoměřice u Tábora“ for SUDOP Praha.
