ZKL - tapered roller bearing units

The basis of the bearing unit is composed of double row tapered roller bearing with two plastic cages which is according to design of bearing box completed with special seal, shrink ring with plastic insertion and outer spacing ring. Inner space of bearing is filled with plastic grease with increased chemical stability and durability, which is suitable for high speed applications with low friction, low wear and long operation capability. The inner design is optimized by calculations based on FEM so that high utility parameters as well as maintaining permanent lubricants in rolling contact are achieved. Bearings from the production are adjusted to a prescribed axial clearance. Design and production meet the stipulations of ČSN EN 12080:2007 standard as evidenced also by an obtained certificate of VÚŽ Praha, a. s. In February this year the bearing was approved for use on the cars of 071/971 series of electric units City Elefant. The bearing has much wider use. Further tests confirmed the bearings life over million kilometres and operation capability for speed of 200 km/h. This gives a chance for the bearing to being use in many other applications on rail vehicles for passenger transport whichv is this bearing mainly determined for.
