The Škoda Transportation (Škoda Vagonka) company presents the new generation of low-floor vehicles

Škoda Transportation company (Škoda Vagonka) produces the new low-floor electric unit for the ČD which will carry first passengers already in the next year. Trains will be used on regional lines in five regions as two-car or three-car units. The most of technology, situated on a vehicle roof, means that a maximum of an internal space is reserved to passengers. Totally, there are 147 seats in two-car trainset and 241 seats in three-car trainset. Low-floor entrance, non-barrier elements, air-condition, closed-type WC and external and internal information system increase comfort to passengers.
The train is missing one thing – name. The Škoda Transportation company in cooperation with the Czech Railways decided to address the public and organize the survey „Name the new train". In the period from 24 March 2011 till 30 April 2011 the citizens have the possibility to send their suggestions how to call the train through the formular published on www.NovyVlak.cz, by mail to the address
NovyVlak@skoda.cz or by post to the address Škoda Transportation, a.s., Tylova 1/57, 301 28 Plzeň. The cover letter must be designated by motto „COMPETITION". The Commission composed of representatives of Škoda Transportation, the ČD and representatives of individual regions - where the train will be used - will choose the winning proposal which will be written on its side.
