The Czech traffic technology increases the safety of railway lines of the greatest Serbian thermal power plant.

Last week, at participation of Minister of Transport of CR Gustav Slamečka, there was put into operation the new safety signalling system in the unloading Obrenovac station in Serbia, on the line within the complex of the Thermal Power Plant Nikola Tesla (TPPNT).

Obrenovac is already the second station within the power plant, which was innovated. As the first one, there was safeguarded the Vreoci station, last year. In both cases there was used the technology of the Czech company AŽD Praha, while construction works were in absolute majority ensured in cooperation with local companies. Renovation costs of both stations, at partial participation of Czech Republic, from the fund intended for foreign aid, were approximatelly 3 000 000 euro. For the future, it is counted with renovation of other stations within the power plant complex. After finishing of the renovation of all stations, there should be established a dispatching control place in the Obrenovac station, from where the operation of all stations would be remotely controlled.

For safeguarding there was used the electronic station interlocking system ESA 11, which was modified for local conditions. However there were made no principle changes, because the system is very compatible.

„The long term cooperation with the AŽD Praha on the line renovation is a great benefit for us. We appreciate especially high technical parameters of delivered equipment, which in combination with our experts, who are able to use them maximally, leads to an important safety improvement," said Petar Knežević, Director of Thermal Power Plant Nikola Tesla.

In the ceremonial meeting there took part, beside the Minister of Transport of CR and representatives of the TPPNT and AŽD Praha, many guests of honour headed by Czech Ambassadress in Belgrade Hana Hubáčková and Deputy Mminister of Infrastructure Serbia Dejan Lasica.
