The Czech Technology will be for the first time in history used for safeguarding of the level crossing in America

The level crossing safeguarding system of the Czech company AŽD Praha will be installed in the USA on the line in Nashville.

This is a pilot project. When the technology will be proved in the operation and when all local standards and regulations will be met, the Czech company will be able to deliver its equipment into the USA freely, in the future. The AŽD Praha undersigned the contract for the first delivery of its technology to the United States with The Nashville&Eastern Railroad Corp. (NERR), and the AZD Praha would like to cooperate on deliveries of its devices with this company also in the future.

The AŽD Praha will deliver all required technology, the local partner will complement the warning board itself, barrier beams, technology shed and traffic signs so as the level crossing vissually corresponds to conventions of American standards.

„The value of this order consists especially in that, it opens us the door into a completely new market, which is a great challenge for us. To modify our devices for local conditions is not too complicated because of its compatibility, so there have been solved especially some local standards and regulations," explained Ing. Petr Žatecký, Commercial Director – Export from the AŽD Praha company.

The first level crossing will be installed just outside Nashville (state Tennessee) on the private railway line Nashville&Eastern Railroad. It should be fully operating in July. It will be equipped with the level crossing safeguarding system PZZ-EA, which is controlled automatically by the train running and it is compatible with a random station interlocking equipment and line signalling systems.

The Nashville&Eastern Railroad Corp. plays an important role in securing of freight and passenger railway traffic between Nashvill and Monterey. It participates also on the renewal and renovation of main and secondary lines in given region.
