UniControls - Control system for Diesel-electric locomotive of 741 series

In recent weeks the tests of the Diesel-electric locomotive of 741 series (original 742 renumbered due to higher weight) was completed successfully on the circuit in Cerhenice. The locomotive technology is controlled by the Unicontrols distributed system, which, beside basic control functions, provides for WTB communication for the control of connected vehicles, CAN communication for the diagnostic display, antislip and anti-skid protection, and cooperation of electrodynamic and additional pneumatic brake depending on current braking force.

The four-axle locomotive has AC-DC transmission of power to 4 traction engines. The combustion engine output is 1000 kW, and the engine meets the EU IIIA emission requirements. The traction output is 800 kW, maximum traction force 208 kN at constant speed 22 km/h, maximum speed is 100 km/h.  Auxiliary drives have hydraulic transmission of power.

The first piece of the manufactured locomotive will be bought by Unipetrol doprava. In 2010 another locomotives are planned for ČD Cargo.
