Vectron locomotives are spreading over the Europe

ELL to order up to 50 Siemens Vectron locomotives European Locomotive Leasing (ELL), a provider of full‐service locomotive leasing solutions to freight and passenger operators throughout continental Europe, and Siemens announced signing a framework contract for the order of as many as 50 state‐of‐theart Siemens Vectron locomotives. The multi-system units can be deployed in border-crossing traffic not only in Austria, Germany and Hungary, but also in Poland, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. In addition to the national train control systems, each locomotive is equipped with ETCS.

MRCE orders 20 additional Vectron locomotives The locomotive leasing company Mitsui Rail Capital Europe B.V. (MRCE) recently ordered the delivery of further 20 Vectron AC locomotives from Siemens. These locomotives will also be equipped for operation of fast passenger trains. The first locomotive from the Siemens locomotive plant in Munich- Allach, Germany, has already been handed over to MRCE. With this order, MRCE increases its Vectron fleet to a total of 35 Vectron locomotives.

Vectron AC certified in Norway The Norwegian Railway Authority (SJT) granted authorization for the AC version of the Vectron in July 2014. The Vectron AC is designed to operate on alternating voltages of 15 and 25 kV. This authorization applies to Vectrons built for a nominal rating of 6400 kW and a maximum speed of 200 km/h.
